Partner with our Local Businesses
The backbone of a strong community is its local businesses. Local businesses provide the careers that drive our economy and by supporting these businesses we can ensure that they continue to provide solid careers for our children. As a county commissioner I will work directly with our small business owners to ensure that Jefferson County is a business friendly environment where owners can operate without the fear of onerous government regulations.
Job Creation
More work must be accomplished on securing job opportunities for residents of Jefferson County. As County Commissioner I will work to establish a tax deferment program along with redevelopment and business zone districts to actively pursue and encourage new companies to locate within Jefferson County while keeping in place and encouraging the growth of those companies that currently call Jefferson County home.
Fiscal Responsibility
With the push lately from the Federal and State government for the increased involvement in the everyday lives of citizens through the creation of numerous programs and regulatory agencies, our tax burden continues to increase well beyond any acceptable level. As County Commissioner I will effectively conduct a detailed financial audit of the County’s Budget within the first year to identify and eliminate wasteful programs and spending.
Improved Quality of Life
Tough times require strong and knowledgeable leadership and as County Commissioner I will aggressively work with the Sheriff’s Department, County Attorney’s office, the School District, local City Government Officials, business owners, non-profit organizations, faith based organizations, and residents monthly for a needs based assessment review and discussion on time sensitive and pertinent issues.
Honesty, Integrity and Vision
In my personal life as well as my professional career I place Honesty, Integrity and a clear Vision of the tasks to be accomplished on the top of my list. As County Commissioner it will be my job to serve as the conduit between the many levels of County government and you, the residents of the County. I promise to conduct the office of County Commissioner with the honesty, integrity and long term vision that residents of Jefferson County demand.
