Work Experience
Over the past 20 years Don has been actively involved in land use, community design, water resources, energy, and economic development projects. Don is a Colorado business leader with vast budgetary and personnel management experience. Don is a registered professional engineer who brings cross-functional and cross industry experience from the local, state, and national levels to all of his business activities. He is a proven leader with the ability to dig into the issues and make the tuff decisions.
Education
Growing up in Arvada, Don attended Jeffco R-1 schools from elementary to senior high. After graduation from Arvada Senior High, Don went on to and received his bachelors of science degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University. Don then went on to secure the 4 years of practical design experience and pass the state exam to receive his professional civil engineering license.
Charity Work / Volunteerism
Don has been actively involved in local and international charity work and volunteerism for many years. For the past 18 years Don and his wife GeriAnn have volunteered in the nursery every Sunday at the church they attend. Don has travel to Costa Rica with a group of 12 men from Colorado who volunteered their time and money to rebuild a damaged home in Tres Rios. For 8 years Don served as Chairman of the Jefferson County Community Development Advisory Board working with and reviewing applications submitted by not–for-profit organizations seeking CDBG and HOME grant funding from Jefferson County. Don is currently a volunteer lacrosse coach for the Coyote Lacrosse Association in South Jefferson County.
Family Man / Outdoorsman
Married to his high school sweetheart, Don and his wife GeriAnn recently celebrated their 21st anniversary. They have called the same house in south Jefferson County home for over 17 years. All 3 of their children were born at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge and currently attend Jeffco Public Schools. Don enjoys getting out and experiencing all that Jefferson County has to offer. He enjoys playing golf, skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, and playing a variety of sports.
